APTA Expo 2026: Discover the High-Performance Transit & Fleet Products Showcased by KIRKS
KIRKS, a trusted partner for transit organizations, independent coach operators, fleet managers, and industrial companies, made strong connections at this month’s APTA (American Public Transportation Association) trade show.
The KIRKS team showcased an impressive lineup of products and live demonstrations that drew significant attention from attendees. Here are a few of the highlights from the 2026 APTA Transform & Expo.

Serious Foot Traffic at the C. E. Neihoff Alternators APTA 2026 Exhibit
The most-talked-about products were the CEN C850 Alternator and the CEN Smart Regulator.
The CEN C850 provides features that bring a surprising number of benefits to heavy-duty vehicle operation:
- High Output: Produces 350 Amps at engine idle and 550A at peak.
- Improved Cooling: Dual fan design improves airflow through the unit.
- Leak-Free Design: No oil circulation system, eliminating oil contamination and leaks.
- Durability: Unique brushless construction increases durability, extends service life, and reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI).
- Overvoltage Protection: Overvoltage cut-out circuit (OVCO) prevents sustained overvoltage conditions.
- Long-Life Bearings: Heavy-duty bearings submerged in high-temperature grease extend lifespan by reducing operating temperatures.
- High Efficiency: Lower internal temperatures due to high efficiency mean longer life and more power available for additional electrical components.
CEN Smart Regulator’s advanced features were highlighted, including an explanation of Soft Start technology.
Monster Pulleys: A Hands-On Showstopper at APTA

One of the most talked-about moments was KIRKS’s live Monster Pulley demonstration. Using a C. E. Niehoff C850 alternator, the team walked attendees through a demo of how the pulley is installed and operates, giving visitors the rare opportunity to spin the pulley and feel firsthand how the internal clutches function.
The interactive demo naturally drew a crowd, especially since the KIRKS exhibit sat next to C. E. Niehoff’s exhibit, where foot traffic was high and engagement strong.
The hands-on experience translated directly into conversations around the key benefits Monster Pulleys deliver:
- Reduced belt wear: extending the service life of drive belts
- Reduced wear on bearings and belt tensioners: lowering overall maintenance costs
- Reduced noise and vibration: contributing to a smoother, quieter ride
- Improved performance and reduced stress on accessory drive components: protecting the entire accessory drive system

Radiators at APTA: In-Stock, Direct-Fit, and Built to Last
KIRKS was excited to introduce the all-aluminum Transit Cooling Radiators (TCS) to those unfamiliar with them. A key talking point was TCS’s radiators as direct-fit replacements for OE/OEM applications, including Gillig and other major platforms. With in-stock availability and the ability to support customer needs quickly and reliably, these radiators are a seamless option for fleet operators.
The standout advantage discussed at the show was TCS radiators’ all-aluminum construction compared to OE units that commonly use plastic tanks.
All-aluminum TCS radiator builds for buses offer:
- Superior durability over the long term
- Greater resistance to cracking and heat-related stress
- Longer service life in demanding transit environments
Brake Pads & Rotors at APTA: Proven Performance, Approved and In Use
KIRKS’s brake product line generated strong interest, especially given its growing acceptance among major transit authorities. Marcus Cornwell, Sales Manager, North America, from Bremsen Technik was on hand to engage attendees directly about Celect brake pads and rotors, offering preventative maintenance and reinforcing the products’ credibility and field-proven performance.
Celect Brake Pads Highlighted at APTA included:
- Celect CF29 Copper-free formulation: meeting modern environmental standards
- R90 approval: a recognized benchmark for brake pad performance and safety
- Proven acceptance by major transit authorities: including Broward County, Florida, and others currently using Celect Copper-Free pads in active service
- In-stock availability: to support fleet needs without delays
Rotors, especially when paired with Celect brake pads, offer:
- Enhanced overall braking performance
- Potential extended service life compared to OE components
- Notable noise reduction

E3 Spark Plugs at APTA: Ignition Technology Built for the Demands of Alternative Fuels
Joe Wolf, E3 Spark Plugs’ Sales and Marketing leader, joined up with the KIRKS team for conversations about how the industry’s shift toward alternative fuels is exposing the limitations of conventional spark plug technology and how E3 has engineered a better solution.
Why Iridium-rhodium Alloy and Why E3 Goes Further
- The iridium-rhodium alloy achieves higher operating temperatures with lower erosion.
- It prevents oxidation and maintains proper gap size over the plug’s service life.
- E3’s center electrode is 30% larger, which translates directly to longer service life and reduced stress on the ignition coil.
Joe talked with attendees about the benefits of choosing E3 Spark Plugs replacements:
- Overcoming Combustion Issues
- Enhanced Ignition Technology
- Extended Service Life
- Reduced Maintenance Costs
- Compatibility and Easy Installation

Keeping People Moving and Building the Strong Connections
Beyond the product demonstrations, APTA gave the KIRKS team the opportunity to connect with exceptional industry experts.
These conversations reflect KIRKS’s ongoing commitment to building strong relationships across the industry. Through KIRKS ToolBOX webinars, training, customer support, and sourcing exceptional parts at competitive prices, the KIRKS team partners with and invests in the success of every operator and organization it serves.
KIRKS headed home from APTA with new connections, renewed momentum, and a clear message delivered: reliable parts, competitive pricing, and the expertise to back it all up.
