US Steel needed a single-source supplier to cut costs and streamline operations. They were encountering delays and downtime with multiple supply vendors that couldn’t service their complex operations effectively and efficiently.
The Solution
KIRKS partnered with US Steel to create a heavy-duty spare part replacement program for all their steel mills and processing plants nationwide. We created a user-friendly custom web portal for all US Steel employees to access for part number lookup and ordering. The system included setting up a seamless procurement integration with the US Steel Oracle system for electronic transmission of all internal requisitions. To further support US Steel’s need for immediate fulfillment, KIRKS established a twice-daily pickup and delivery for local US Steel locations in SE Michigan.
The Result
US Steel employees enjoy the convenience of placing orders, setting automatic reorders, one-click delivery, tracking, and order history in one easy-to-use web application. The US Steel accounting department has streamlined bookkeeping with a simple and effective P.O. process and recording operation.
